Soundgarden Reveal Halfway There Video - Watch Now

Thursday, 05 September 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

US rock titans Soundgarden have unveiled the video for their new track Halfway There.

The band are well-known for their incredibly psychedelic music video for ‘Black Hole Sun’, which has over 15 million views on YouTube and has picked up many award in its time, including the Best Metal/Hard Rock Video at the 1994 MTV Video Music Awards.

Now, Soundgarden return in similarly trippy fashion with the video for Halfway There, which sees them - or someone - embarking on some kind of space mission, perhaps to the Black Hole Sun they previously referred to almost 20 years ago.

The track is taken from their critically-acclaimed comeback album ‘King Animal’, which hit shelves last year  and was the first record since 1996’s ‘Down on the Upside’. Hitting #21 in the UK and a much higher #5 in the US, it’s a fine return from the band who tour the UK in September.

Commenting on their plans for the future, guitarist Kim Thayill has said:

“I think that will be it for a while. I’ll be working on compiling the Soundgarden B-Sides box. We have a lot of songs that were released on European and Australian releases, movie soundtracks – various things like that, that have yet to be compiled into album form.”

Soundgarden UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows

Mon September 16th 2013 - DUBLIN The O2
