Courtney Love Hoping for Jay Z Collaboration

Wednesday, 11 September 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Courtney Love has revealed she’d love to collaborate with hip-hop superstar Jay Z.

The former wife of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is preparing to reignite her solo career, and told Billboard last month that she has a new album, titled 'Died Blonde', set for release in 2014. She has a single coming out in December (along with a book), and has recorded at least eight tracks for the album.

Love once covered Jay Z’s 99 Problems and it seems a collaboration with the super-selling rapper is just what she has in mind.

Asked by NY Mag about her record was progressing, Love replied:

“We have the single, which comes out when my book comes out this winter. But we're missing a song that's modern... I would love to do a duet with Jay Z. Wouldn't that be great? Gwyneth asked him if he heard my version of '99 Problems' and he said it was brilliant, so...”

Meanwhile, Love is rumoured to have a show lined up at Manchester Academy this November, and although no further dates have surfaced, it looks like a UK tour could well be on the cards. Love has previously claimed that she won't be performing any new material live until her album hits shelves.
