Korn Tease New Tune Prey For Me For Track By Track YouTube Series

Saturday, 21 September 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Nu-metal veterans Korn have unveiled a new video teasing brand new track Prey for Me.

The Californians are gearing up for the release of their hugely-anticipated eleventh album ‘The Paradigm Shift’, which is their first album featuring guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch since 2003’s platinum-selling ‘Take a Look in the Mirror’, and are previewing cuts from the record via a ‘Track by Track’ series on YouTube.

The latest selection - following its first single Never Never and then Love & Meth - is album opener Prey for Me, and it sees the world-famous band returning to the original, chugging-riff style we first fell in love with over a decade ago. Along with the classic head-nod guitar bits, there’s an epic vocal performance from frontman Jonathan Davis, and that stomping percussion that Ray Luzier is so good at creating.

The band are hugely excited for the new record and have claimed it’s their best yet - and it’s been inspired by the crazy, drug-fuelled past of their members. Head recently revealed that it was ‘no secret I was into the drugs’, while Davis opens up about a ‘three year benzo addiction’ that saw his brain ‘rewiring’ itself in the video you see below.

‘The Paradigm Shift’ will see a UK release on October 7 via Prospect Park/Caroline International. The album, which was produced by Don Gilmore, is the follow-up to their dubstep-tinged 2011 record ‘The Path of Totality’. But don’t expect too many wobs and yoys on this LP - Korn are back to their best.

Anyway, check out the video below, and keep your eyes peeled for more Korn updates in the coming weeks!
