The Office star Ricky Gervais has revealed that Wembley Arena have been in contact with him in regards to taking his David Brent show to the stage.
The British comedian and actor, who recently featured in the hit animated film Escape from Planet Earth, has been rumoured to hit the road for a tour as iconic Office manager David Brent, having already been in talks with major labels about creating an album.
Now, London's Wembley Arena apparently want to sign up Brent - who kicked off his musical career earlier this year with YouTube tutorial series ‘Learn Guitar with David Brent’ - for a gig at the massive venue in London.
Speaking to The Sun, Gervais describes the deal as ‘amazing and hilarious’.
“It's amazing and hilarious. Having Wembley on the phone to talk about live gigs is far beyond what Brent could ever have imagined. I've played Wembley many times as a stand-up and it really is the greatest venue in the world.
“It will be perfect for Brent too, as it's not too far from Slough.”
While we may have to wait some time before any such show takes place, Gervais is expected to unveil two intimate London gigs in the very near future - keep your eyes peeled on Stereoboard for more on those gigs. In the meantime, check out an episode of ‘Learn Guitar with David Brent’ below.
