Mumford And Sons Out Of Action For 'Foreseeable Future'

Monday, 23 September 2013 Written by Huw Baines

Mumford And Sons are set to take a prolonged break from music after wrapping up touring commitments for 'Babel', their second studio album.

The folk-rock band have become an arena draw on both sides of the Atlantic in recent years, but constant touring has left them in need of a break.

Keyboard player Ben Lovett confirmed in an interview with Rolling Stone that they would be gone for the 'foreseeable future' following the end of their US tour, which was wrapped up in Bonner Springs, Kansas on September 21. He said:

"There won’t be any Mumford And Sons activities for the foreseeable future following Friday’s show."

When asked how long the band intended to be away, he continued:

"We have no idea. We just know we’re going to take a considerable amount of time off and just go back to hanging out and having no commitments or pressure or anything like that. It feels like the last week of school right now, before school holiday when you’re in high school. The atmosphere on the road is one of . . . I think everyone’s excited about being free of schedules."
