Turisas Frontman Talks About 'Turisas2013' Album: 'We've Taken A Different Approach'

Finnish outfit Turisas have opened up about their brand new, fourth studio album ‘Turisas2013’.
The war-paint wearing metalheads delivered their latest collection of music earlier this month, and hit the UK next month for an October tour where they’ll be ripping through new tracks as well as a selection from previous releases.
Ahead of the tour, vocalist Mathias Nygård has opened up about their new record, and what they wanted fans to feel and think of it.
“If people approach it with sort of an open mind as what it is, I think it can be a very rewarding album. On this album, we took a different approach and wanted to make it kind of drier and more in-your-face than the albums we put out a few years back. I think that it’s the most varied album and up to date.
“There’s a lot of familiar Turisas to it for those who have followed the band for a long time and there’s a lot of new elements to the music.”
The ‘battle-metal’ troupe have impressed with their new LP, but where they really turn heads is with their energetic and unique live performances. They’ve lined-up five UK dates for this October.
