The Wanted Ticket Demand One Third Of One Direction Despite 200% Surge

Fans appear to be getting firmly behind chart-topping boyband the Wanted, following a 200% surge in demand for tickets ahead of their on sale this Saturday, for the recently announced UK leg of their Word Of Mouth World Tour. However, according to ticket marketplace Seatwave, three times as many fans want to see One Direction.
The rivalry betweent the Wanted and One Direction is famous among pop fans, having spilled over onto Twitter earlier this year.
Louise Mullock, spokesperson for Seatwave, said: “The Wanted have seen a huge surge in ticket demand as fans eagerly await the chance to get their hands on tickets for their upcoming 2014 shows. However, it seems that despite this surge, they are still playing second fiddle to the seemingly unstoppable One Direction.”
One of the world's biggest boybands, the Wanted kick-off the 13-date UK leg of the Word Of Mouth tour in Liverpool on March 14 2014. The group will perform at UK arenas nationwide, including a visit to the iconic O2 Arena in London on March 27 2014.
Max George said: "We can't wait to get back on the road, for what is our biggest tour so far. One of the best things about being in a band is performing live in front of the fans, and to do that across the world has always been our dream. Every night is going to be one long party!"
The Wanted will be promoting material from their upcoming album 'Word Of Mouth', fans can also expect favourites such as their British chart-topping smash hit Glad You Came.
The Wanted Tickets are on sale from 10am on Saturday October 12, priced from £33.50 + fees. Will demand from fans beat the past frenzied rush from One Directioners?
