Kate Nash Posts Fri-End Lyric Video

Friday, 11 October 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

British singer-songwriter Kate Nash has unveiled the lyric video for Fri-End, a slice of rough-edged pop that sees her channelling her anger with a message to a former friend.

“This was the first song I wrote for the record and it’s about rubbish friends,” she said. “When someone cares more about material things than they do about you.”

Nash has included Pink Limo Ride as a bonus track. She wrote and released the anti bullying song in a day to raise awareness after her friend was beaten up in London for the way he looks. Kate urged her supporters to check out the Sophie Lancaster Foundation and its efforts to stamp out prejudice.

Fri-end is taken from the album 'Girl Talk', which features the hooks that made her famous, the jangle of LA new wave and '60s girl groups that she soaked up while living under the Californian sun, the shade of a Quentin Tarantino soundtrack, plus an intense, defiant punk passion that drips from brilliantly crafted pop songs.

Kate's feet will barely touch the ground over the next few months. Embarking on extensive tour of Europe, UK and the US, Kate is about to star in new Brit movie Powder Room'alongside Jaime Winstone, Sheridan Smith and Oona Chaplin.

Her current UK tour has taken in dates around the country, including a homecoming at Shepherd's Bush Empire tomorrow, October 12.
