Philadelphia country-soul singer-songwriter Amos Lee, last seen in the UK in January 2012, will headline London’s Royal Festival Hall on May 9 2014.
Amos’s new album ‘Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song’ is released on October 21 and looks set to follow its 2011 predecessor ‘Mission Bell’ to the top of the US charts.
Amos, one of music’s best-kept secrets this side of the Atlantic, gave up a fledgling career as a school teacher to concentrate on music in the late '90s and did stints as a waiter and bartender to make ends meet while he honed his laid-back soulful folk style.
As well as playing hundreds of his own shows Amos has toured with Bob Dylan, Merle Haggard, Paul Simon and Elvis Costello. His 2011 album ‘Mission Bell’ entered the US chart at #1 and Amos toured the UK with Adele in September of that year.
