The Who are set to draw a line under their career as a live band following a world tour in celebration of their 50th anniversary in 2015.
Guitarist Pete Townshend confirmed that he and vocalist Roger Daltrey would roll out one more major tour before taking a step back from the band, who released their debut album, 'My Generation', in 1965.
“For the 50th anniversary we’ll tour the world. It’ll be the last big one for us. There are still plenty of places we’ve not played. It would be good to go to eastern Europe and places that haven’t heard us play all the old hits.”
The Who have remained a major draw as a live band despite the deaths of founding members John Entwistle and Keith Moon, in 2002 and 1978. They'll release a reissue of 'Tommy', their classic rock opera, on November 11 and recently oversaw the premiere of Sensation - The Story Of The Who’s Tommy, a documentary about the record.
