Def Leppard Planning To Release New Album And EP

Thursday, 24 October 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

English rock legends Def Leppard are set to release a brand new EP and album, according to guitarist Phil Collen.

The Sheffield band, who last released a studio record in 2008 with ‘Songs from the Sparkle Lounge’, will be making a return before the end of 2013 with a new EP featuring ‘four of five’ new tracks.

Collen - who was speaking to Rolling Stone - confirmed that the band have plans to put out their next album in 2014, but can’t wait until then to get their music out to fans.

“We've got a shitload of new songs. It's just implement them and then, ‘What direction are we gonna take? Who are we gonna get to produce it? Are we gonna do it ourselves? Are we gonna do multiple stuff?’.

“An album would obviously take too long, so we're gonna do about four or five songs, get those out and then next year have an album come out, so it'll be an EP and an album.”
