Julian Assange - founder of WikiLeaks - spoke to fans of M.I.A via videolink prior to her gig at Terminal 5 in New York on Friday.
The 42-year-old Australian appeared from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he has been in exile, as a guest speaker. Punk blog Brooklyn Vegan tweeted an image of Assange's address, while he is reported to have told the crowd:
"It's a great pleasure to speak to MIA and our fans. I have become a fan of MIA because I think she is the most courageous woman working in western music, without exception."
It’s not the first time they’ve worked together, with MIA previously providing music for his show The World Tomorrow. Leave us a comment with your opinion in the box underneath!
