The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers And Groove Armada To Headline Snowbombing 2014

Tuesday, 05 November 2013 Written by Adam Holden

Going fully electric, Snowbombing has announced the high-calibre, blockbuster names of the Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and Groove Armada for the 2014 festival.

The Prodigy, who are able to cross boundaries and transcend genres, have headlined nearly every major festival in Europe since their last album release, ‘Invaders Must Die’, in 2009, and are now back for a second time in the Austrian mountains. Performing on the Forest stage, they will undoubtedly provide some high octane energy.

The Chemical Brothers are making their Snowbombing debut and will not disappoint. Flying in for one of their renowned DJ sets, the duo, who have eight studio albums to their name and countless smash hit records said:

“We’re very excited to play such a unique festival, and a new one for us. We have been working on new material for a while now, so every DJ show gives us a chance to share music with people…let's have a ball"

The sounds of Groove Armada will also be vibrating their way through the Austrian Alps, while Mercury Prize nominees Rudimental will be returning after going down a storm in 2013.

Now in its 15th year, the festival, located in Mayrhofen, Austria is arguably Europe’s premier extreme sports festival, amalgamating skiing and snowboarding with world class music in a location that is as picturesque as a festival can be.

With mountains as a perimeter fence and a sky-high igloo, 2,000 metres above sea level, enchanted forest clearings, cosy alpine lodges and medieval barns, Snowbombing is a festival experience like no other.

Elsewhere throughout the festival week are A-Skills, Ben & Lex, Breakage, Citizen, Daniel Avery, Hannah Wants, Huxley, Kove, Krafty Kuts, Kyntro, The Martinez Brothers, North Base, Radio Slave, Rattus Rattus, Roska, Route 94, Smash HiFi and The Heatwave, nja Schneider, Antony Naples, B-Traits, Ben Pearce, Bicep, Breakage, Carl Cox B2B Nic Fanciulli, David Rodigan MBE, Dismantle, DJ EZ, Dusky, Gorgon City, George Fitzgerald, Horse Meat Disco, J.G.
