100,000+ Monty Python Tickets Sell Out In Under 15 Minutes

Monday, 25 November 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

With the dust beginning to settle after Monday's frenzied ticket rush, it has been confirmed that Monty Python's final reunion shows sold out within minutes.

Their initial show sold out in just two minutes, with the following four selling out within a quarter of an hour of going on sale. That's over 100,000 tickets snapped up in under 15 minutes.

The surviving members of Monty Python - John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin and Terry Jones - appeared together at a London press conference last week to announce a date for what they called the ‘final reunion’. Following the huge rush for tickets this morning, four extra shows were quickly announced to satisfy the demand.

The first show takes place on July 1, with further shows announced for July 2, 3, 4 and 5. These new shows will be the first time the Python collective have performed together in decades.
