Rod Stewart And Ronnie Wood Move Closer To Faces Reunion

Friday, 06 December 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Rod Stewart has hinted that a reunion of the Faces, the band he fronted alongside current Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, could be on the cards.

Speaking to Boston radio station WZLX, Stewart confirmed that plans for a new record alongside Jeff Beck had been scrapped, but that a Faces reunion could be a possibility in 2015. He said:

"We seem to have lost contact with each other, sadly. Jeff's manager was the guy who was getting us together, but I think [Jeff's] fired [that] manager since then, so that conduit has been closed off.

"I think we have got much more of a chance of getting the Faces back together, in fact. Ronnie's office is talking to my people, and we're ear-marking 2015."

The Faces formed following the Small Faces' break up in 1969, with Stewart and Wood, then of the Jeff Beck Group, joining Kenney Jones, Ian McLagan and Ronnie Lane, who died in 1997. In recent years, the band has performed with Simply Red's Mick Hucknall on vocals.
