The iconic Dolly Parton has announced that her anticpated 'Blue Smoke' album will be released in New Zealand/ Australia on January 31 2014, to coincide with her international Blue Smoke World Tour which will hit New Zealand and Australia in February. In addition, 'Blue Smoke' will be released in the US and Europe in May 2014, in advance of the tour hitting England, Ireland, Scotland, Denmark, Germany, Norway and Sweden.
Dolly’s career has spanned nearly five decades and is showing no signs of slowing down. Her tour will travel across the pond next June and July for concerts in the UK and Europe.
Speaking about the new shows, Dolly said:
"Every time I come to Europe I’m just as excited as I was my very first time, which was many, many years ago. I love that part of the world and I especially love the fans.
We always have such a good time and I’ve put together a lot of things for this show that I think the fans will love. We had not planned to come back so soon, but we got so much fan mail and such a great reaction that I thought ‘Well, why not. If they’re having a good time and we always do, let’s just do it’.”
In addition to her UK visit, there are also a few whispers about Dolly performing at Glastonbury next year. Eagle-eyed readers will spot a gap in her tour schedule suitable for the Worthy Farm event with many saying she would suit the now-traditional Sunday afternoon legend slot.
