Elbow have revealed the title for their forthcoming album. 'The Take Off and Landing of Everything' will see a release in March.
The band released their fifth LP, ‘Build a Rocket Boys!’, in 2011 and on March 10 they will return with a sixth. Guy Garvey revealed to Q the inspiration about the intriguing new title, which replaced 'Carry Her, Carry Me' at the last minute. He said:
"It always happens, this. The title's now from a song on there; this huge, cacophonous thing born of our love for space rock, prog, Primal Scream and Spiritualized.
"It's to do with the fact that there have been lots of life events. There are five members of the band, people have split up, got together, had children, it never stops."
The album is available for pre-order now, head over to the band's official website for details. Elbow kick off their spring 2014 tour in Birmingham at the LG Arena on April 5. The band will visit venues in Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham and London, where they hit the stage at the O2 Arena on April 16. Doves' JimiGoodwin has been confirmed as support.
