The Walkmen Confirmed For Benefit Show After Hiatus Announcement

Wednesday, 08 January 2014 Written by Elliott Batte

The Walkmen are set to make a comeback in February, just months after announcing an ‘extreme hiatus’.

The band will play at the Rock On Foundation’s Alt-Star Party, which takes place on February 15 at One Eyed Jacks in New Orleans, during the NBA All-Star Weekend.

In November the band's bassist, Peter Bauer, confirmed that the band had no plans to follow up their last record, 'Heaven'. Frontman Hamilton Leithauser said in a statement:

“We thought it might take a lifetime to get us back together - 'til the Alt-Star Party gave us the nod. How could we stay on the bench? We're coming 110%. Full-court press. Man to man. Rock n Roll, Pick n Roll.”

Curated by San Antonio Spurs player Matt Bonner, the event will also see Vampire Weekend’s Cris Tomson DJing as well as a performance by the Lost Bayou Ramblers. For more info, check the Facebook page here.
