Grouplove Postpone UK And Ireland Tour Due To Illness

Monday, 10 February 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Grouplove have been forced to postpone their forthcoming UK and Ireland tour due to illness.

The band's vocalist, Hannah Hooper, has undergone a procedure to repair damaged vocal cords, meaning that shows in Dublin, Manchester and London have been shelved for now.

In a statement, the band said:

“We are deeply sorry to announce that we will be postponing our upcoming shows in the UK and Europe. Hannah is under strict orders from the doctor that she cannot sing (or talk for that matter) for the next four weeks as she undergoes a procedure to repair an aggravated vocal chord [sic].

"We promise to do everything we can to make it up and come back as soon as we possibly can (we're planning for May now). We hope you understand our situation, and we are deeply sorry for any additional inconvenience this causes you. “

The band have also pushed back the UK release of their second album, 'Spreading Rumours', until May 19, with news on rescheduled tour dates set to follow in the coming weeks.

Grouplove UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows

Sun February 16 2014 - DUBLIN Academy - POSTPONED
Tue February 18 2014 - MANCHESTER Gorilla - POSTPONED
Wed February 19 2014 - LONDON Heaven - POSTPONED
