Neil Young has reached his Kickstarter target for his new PonoMusic player.
The portable, high quality audio player was unveiled by Young at SXSW in Austin, Texas and is designed to counter what he perceives as the damaging effect of MP3 culture. Young's $800,000 target has now been bettered to the tune of over $2,000,000.
The PonoPlayer will initially retail at $399, with high resolution albums expected to cost between $14.99 and $24.99 through the service's store. For more on PonoMusic click here, and check below for responses to the sound quality from, among others, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Grohl and Elton John.
Young, meanwhile, also confirmed added details on his new record, 'A Letter Home', which will feature Jack White. Click here for the full story.
