Post-hardcore band Quicksand today announce a new show at London’s Electric Ballroom on Thursday June 12.
Formed in 1990, the band consists of frontman Walter Schreifels, guitarist Tom Capone, drummer Alan Cage and bassist Sergio Vega the group released their debut full-length album ‘Slip’ in 1993, before disbanding in 1995. The band members went on to pursue individual careers before regrouping to play live and record new material in 1998, which to date has remained officially unreleased due to the band’s second split in 1999.
In the time between their second split and 2012 reunion, Walter Schreifels had formed Rival Schools and later fronted Walking Concert in addition to pursuing a solo career; Tom Capone played guitar for Instruction; Sergio Vega plays bass for Deftones, having filled in for Chi Cheng after his 2008 auto accident; while Alan Cage contributed to Enemy's Hooray for Dark Matter in 2005 and later worked with New Idea Society and hardcore band 108.
Following their reunion in 2012, the date will be the band’s first London show and comes ahead of their appearance at Download festival.
