Antemasque Announce July Release For Debut Album

Tuesday, 15 April 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Antemasque, the new band featuring Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Omar Rodríguez-López and Dave Elitch of the Mars Volta and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, have confirmed a July 15 release for their debut album.

The band surfaced online last week, releasing a series of songs through Bandcamp after their first single, 4AM, was met with a strong response.

The band released a statement to Spin, along with a preview of another new song, Drown All Your Witches, through Rodríguez-López's Nadie label:

"We were planning to release just one track last week, '4AM,' but we ended up releasing the other two songs, 'Hangin' in the Lurch' and 'People Forget,' because of the amazing response from our fans. The fan response is the reason we have decided to forgo the traditional route of signing with a label and releasing music on their schedule in favor of releasing tracks and material in response to demand from our fans."

Further details on the album, and a series of buying options, will be released on the band's Facebook page shortly.
