Lorde Confirms June Brixton Academy Date, Postpones Australian Tour

Tuesday, 22 April 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Lorde will head to London in June for a one-off date at the O2 Academy Brixton.

The 17-year-old New Zealander - real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor - will arrive in the capital on June 6, although she has also been forced to cancel a planned Australian tour, which was due to start in Melbourne on April 24.

Yelich-O'Connor will return to Auckland on doctor's advice, for immediate rest and recuperation. In a series of tweets, she confirmed that the shows had been set aside due to "a nasty chest infection" and "general ill health".

In a statement, she added: "It breaks my heart to have to postpone these shows as the band and I absolutely love playing to Australian crowds, and it was not a decision we made lightly. I know I need to focus on getting better in order to perform at my best. We'll be with you as soon as we can, Aussies."

Tickets for Lorde's scheduled London date are on sale at 9am on April 26, priced at £24.00.

Lorde Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows:

Fri June 06 2014 - LONDON O2 Academy Brixton
