Foo Fighters’ forthcoming eighth album will be accompanied by a HBO documentary series detailing the recording process.
Directed by the band’s frontman, Dave Grohl, the show follows the Foos as they record in iconic studios across the US, with stops in Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington, DC and New York, and helps celebrate the band's 20th anniversary.
One song was recorded by the band in each studio, alongside artists with connections to the cities, with Grohl writing lyrics at the end of each session in order to document their experiences.
Grohl made his directorial debut with Sound City, a documentary about the California studio of the same name, last year. The new Foo Fighters record, meanwhile, is expected this autumn.
