Tim Wheeler will release his debut solo record, ‘Lost Domain’, on November 3.
The album finds the Ash frontman documenting his father’s dementia and dealing with the grief of his death in 2011, with 10% of proceeds from its Pledge Music campaign going to the Worldwide Alzheimer’s Society.
“I do feel a bit nervous about it being released, because it is very bare and open,” he said. “But I think it’s something that everyone will relate to, and hopefully find some beauty in.
“It’s definitely helped me understand what I went through. I’m glad I documented it. It was a very cathartic process. And I hope my dad would’ve been touched by it.”
Wheeler played the majority of instruments on the album, with contributions also coming from former Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows, Fred Aspelin of Alberta Cross, the London Metropolitan Orchestra, Leanne Macomber and Moon Hooch’s Wenzl McGowen.
