Mercury Prize 2014 Nominees Announced In London

The 2014 Mercury Prize nominees have been announced at the Hospital Club in London's Covent Garden.

Mercury Prize 2014 nominees:

Young Fathers - 'Dead'
FKA Twigs - 'LP1'
East India Youth - 'Total Strife Forever'
Bombay Bicycle Club - 'So Long, See You Tomorrow'
Anna Calvi - 'One Breath'
Nick Mulvey - 'First Mind'
GoGo Penguin - 'v2.0'
Jungle - 'Jungle'
Damon Albarn - 'Everyday Robots'
Polar Bear - 'In Each And Every One'
Kate Tempest - 'Everybody Down'
Royal Blood - 'Royal Blood'

The Mercury Prize recognises and celebrates music in the UK and has a reputation for highlighting both new talent and more established bands and artists. 

Recent winners have included Alt-J, PJ Harvey, the xx and Speech Debelle, with last year's £20,000 prize going to James Blake. This year's winner will be named on October 29.
