Manchester Orchestra Release 'Cope' Reimagining 'Hope'

Tuesday, 16 September 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Manchester Orchestra have released ‘Hope’, a stripped-back companion to their 'Cope’ album.

Featuring largely acoustic alternate takes on each of the record’s songs, 'Hope', which is available online, finds Andy Hull and the band dialling down the wall of guitars that characterised ‘Cope’. Hull said:

“We were noticing that all the beautiful, slow stuff was working with all the really loud and fast stuff.  The seed was planted to go back and create a full circle of an album.”

You can check out the new version of Girl Harbor below, with ‘Hope’ set to receive a physical release through Loma Vista on November 18.

Manchester Orchestra will hit the UK with Kevin Devine and Bad Books later this month for shows in London, Portsmouth, Norwich, Nottingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds and Cardiff.
