Pink Floyd Line Up November Release For 'The Endless River'

Monday, 22 September 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Pink Floyd will release their new album, ‘The Endless River’, on November 10.

A tribute to the late Rick Wright, who died in 2008, the album has been pulled together from sessions for ‘The Division Bell’ and is largely instrumental.

One song, Louder Than Words, features lyrics by the writer Polly Samson, wife of David Gilmour, with Nick Mason completing the line up and Phil Manzanera, Youth and Andy Jackson joining Gilmour in producing. Announcing the album, the band said:

“In 2013 David Gilmour and Nick Mason revisited the music from those sessions and decided that the tracks should be made available as part of the Pink Floyd repertoire. It would be the last time the three of them would be heard together. The band have spent the last year recording and upgrading the music, using the advantages of modern studio technology to create 'The Endless River'. 'The Endless River' is a tribute to Rick Wright, whose keyboards are at the heart of the Pink Floyd sound."

The band have also launched a new website for the album, which contains a snippet of a new song, It's What We Do.
