The Strokes Confirmed For Primavera Sound's 15th Anniversary

Wednesday, 12 November 2014 Written by Huw Baines

The Strokes have been confirmed for Primavera Sound’s 15th anniversary celebrations.

The Barcelona festival will run between May 28 and 30 next year, with the New York indie legends the first band to be announced after a billboard bearing their logo appeared at Passeig del Born.

The Strokes released their fifth album, ‘Comedown Machine’, in 2013, while Julian Casablancas recently put out ‘Tyranny’ with his new band, the Voidz. He discussed both projects running alongside one another in a recent interview with Rolling Stone:

"I feel like the Strokes is an oak tree, and this is a new plant. So I'm focused on that right now. The plan is to eventually have two trees and swing in a hammock. One side nailed to each tree. It would be cool playing shows with the Voidz and the Strokes, that could be a cool model."

Tickets for Primavera Sound are priced at €145.00 until November 14 and €160.00 thereafter.
