The American duo TLC have launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to fund their final album.
Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas started the online campaign on January 19 and it will continue for the next 30 days.
In a statement the duo explained their reasons for returning and creating their last release in this way:
While major labels offer artists multimillion dollar recording and marketing budgets, they don't often give artists complete control of their own music. It is ESSENTIAL that we create our final album completely on our own terms, without any restrictions, with YOU.
Plus, we are still singing. It’s what we love to do, so WHY NOT?!
We feel so blessed to have this opportunity to continue making music, and even more blessed that we get to do it with every single one of you.
