RockNess Cancelled For 2015

Tuesday, 20 January 2015 Written by Laura Johnson

RockNess has been cancelled for the second consecutive year.

The festival, held at Clune Farm on the banks of Loch Ness, was cancelled in 2014 due to other high profile events such as Scotland hosting the Commonwealth Games. Following this, the festival was due to return this year.

However, a festival insider has spoken to Scottish newspaper the Daily Record to confirm it will not:

It's with great sadness that we've discovered RockNess will not take place in 2015.

It's hoped this isn't the end of the festival and it will come back bigger and stronger next year but obviously there are concerns.

There have been some terrific weekends at RockNess and the festival was the biggest of its kind in the Highlands.

A lot of people will be very disappointed but the rumours had been flying around for years that the festival wasn't getting the number it needed to thrive.

Rather than continue to struggle financially and compete for the biggest names with the UK's other festivals, it seems the organisers have decided to take a step back and regroup.

In previous years the festival drew big names such as Fatboy Slim, Example and Ellie Goulding.
