Metallica To Begin Reissue Series With 'No Life 'Til Leather' Cassette

Tuesday, 03 March 2015 Written by Laura Johnson

Metallica will begin a series of reissues with a limited edition cassette of 'No Life 'Til Leather'.

The band will release their 1982 demo on Record Store Day, April 18, via their own label, Blackened Recordings. They will expand the release to CDs and vinyl in the summer. This will be the first time that any of Metallica's demos have been officially released.

Discussing the reissue project with Rolling Stone, Lars Ulrich said:

"It's time for us to put out some next-level reissues and do the song and dance of the catalog that everyone else has done; the U2s and the Led Zeppelins and the Oasises. Instead of starting with Kill 'Em All in 1983, we figured we'd go back another two years to when the band was formed in 1981."

Metallica return to the UK in August for a headline slot at Reading and Leeds festival.
