Slipknot Guitarist Mick Thomson Hospitalised Following Altercation With Brother

Thursday, 12 March 2015 Written by Huw Baines

Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson has been hospitalised, along with his brother, Andrew, following an altercation that left the masked metaller with a stab wound to the back of his head.

Billboard reports that police have confirmed that their injuries are not life threatening, with the incident having occurred at Thomson’s home in Clive, Iowa on Wednesday. Both “appeared to have been drinking”.

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor later tweeted: “Mick Update: from what I've heard he's okay. We're sendig [sic] him all your thoughts. Thank you for that.”

KCCI, an Iowa news service, reported that the incident will not affect Slipknot’s tour plans. The band are slated to headline Download this summer, following the release of ‘.5: The Gray Chapter’ last year.
