PREMIERE: Zefur Wolves Head Back To California On Sin Fronteras

Monday, 16 March 2015 Written by Huw Baines

Zefur Wolves are the latest diversion in one of pop’s greatest quests into the unknown. Led by Cian Ciaran, of the Super Furry Animals, and Estelle Ios, their debut arrives inspired by a stay in Mendocino, Northern California and by rough-around-the-edges west coast melodies.

We’re excited to unveil Sin Fronteras (No Borders), a song that recalls the band’s time in California, most notably their immersion in Mexican communities close to the crossing between their home and the US. Its message: rid the world of borders for the sake of humanity.

Zefur Wolves' self-titled bow was put together and produced at Strangetown Studios by Ciaran and is expected on April 13. The band, who have surfaced only once to play live, at Cardiff’s Millennium Centre in 2014 with choreographer Javier de Frutos, is completed by Danny Wall, Zirian Tahirili and Trystan Palfrey.

While you're at it, head here to check out the first single from the record - Too Late/Wake Up - which is out now. The Super Furry Animals, meanwhile, will return in May to celebrate 15 years since the release of 'Mwng' with a series of live shows.
