PREMIERE: Tigercats Spin A Little Mystery With Wheezer

Wednesday, 01 April 2015 Written by Huw Baines

London pop sophisticates Tigercats recently returned with ‘Mysteries’, placing a full stop on a couple of years on the road in the wake of their debut, ‘Isle of Dogs’.

The record is something of a treasure trove, with indie nuggets tucked away alongside sunny guitar flourishes and the subtle rumble of Tindersticks collaborator Terry Edwards’ horns.

The latest single to be lifted from ‘Mysteries’ is the luminous Wheezer, which we’re excited to premiere below. “I don’t want to say what this song is about, the record’s not called ‘Mysteries’ for nothing,” Duncan Barratt said. “Although this one is just a small, silly mystery and it should be pretty easy to work out - the clue is in the title.”

You can catch Tigercats on tour in the coming weeks, beginning with a stop at Wales Goes Pop on Friday before shows in Bristol, Nottingham, Leeds, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester and York. 'Mysteries' is out now on Fortuna POP!.
