Black Sabbath will not play Ozzfest Japan in November.
The show was widely reported as the band’s ‘farewell’ following the release of a video message from Sharon Osbourne last month. But now, a short statement from the metal legends has dismissed the booking. Ozzy Osbourne will now appear solo, along with as-yet-unconfirmed “friends”. The statement reads:
“Despite previous reports, Black Sabbath will not appear on this year’s Ozzfest Japan, the show will instead feature the festival’s namesake, Ozzy Osbourne (and friends).”
Ozzfest returns to Japan on November 21 and 22. Ozzy will be joined by Korn, who are celebrating their 20th anniversary.
