Dave Grohl Discusses Unheard Material On Foo Fighters' Record Store Day Release

Dave Grohl has revealed details of Foo Fighters’ Record Store Day release in a new interview with Rolling Stone.
The ‘Songs From The Laundry Room’ 10” will feature recordings from Grohl’s pre-Foos songwriting experiments, while he was still playing drums in Nirvana.
The EP will contain demo versions of Alone + Easy Target and Big Me, a cover of Kim Wilde’s Kids In America and an unreleased song, Empty Handed. Record Store Day is on April 18, with Grohl serving as the event’s latest ambassador.
"It was just something to do in between tours when I was playing with Nirvana," Grohl told the magazine’s Kory Grow. "By the time Nirvana was over, I had, I don't know, 20, 30, 40 of these recordings that no one had ever heard. There's a lot more than just those songs. I think the songs that we picked for the Record Store Day album were maybe picked out of 15 or 20 others that no one's ever heard.”
He added: “I'd never been the singer of a band and I'd never been the principal songwriter of a band. So to me it was just this private experiment, not something that I wanted lots of people to hear, because I didn't necessarily like my voice.”
Meanwhile, the band have confirmed a series of UK and Ireland stadium shows for this summer and will also headline the Pyramid Stage at this year's Glastonbury festival.
