Manic Street Preachers Singer Outlines Solo Album Plans

Manic Street Preachers frontman James Dean Bradfield has revealed details of his solo project.
The singer will release The Great Western’ on July 24th and precede it with the single ‘That’s No Way To Tell A Lie’ on July 10th.
Manics bandmate Nicky Wire has also made a contribution to the album, he wrote the lyrics for ‘Bad Boys And Painkillers’. The album also features a cover of ‘To See A Friend In Tears’ by Jacques Brels.
Bradfield said of the solo project: "I just realised...I actually really enjoyed it a lot. Seeing 'Words and Music by James Dean Bradfield' written down actually made me feel happy. For once I've lost a bit of my insecurity."
Manic Street Preachers are also busy working on the follow-up to 2004's 'Lifeblood'.
Meanwhile in other Manics news, bassist Nicky Wire will perform an acoustic solo set at next months Hay on Wye Festival, which runs from May 25th to June 4th.
Wire will perform in the festival cinema on the final day of the event.
