Destroyer Announces New Album And UK Shows

Thursday, 21 May 2015 Written by Laura Johnson

Destroyer has announced his new album and four UK shows.

Dan Bejar, aka Destroyer, will call in London, Brighton, Leeds and Bristol between October 30 and November 2. Tickets for Leeds and Bristol are already on sale. Prices start from £13.00, plus fees. Tickets for London and Brighton go on sale May 22 at 9.00am.

Bejar will be touring in support of this new LP, 'Poison Season', which is set for release August 28 through Merge Records. Accompanying the record will be a two-song 12" that includes a remix of Forces From Above and an orchestral version of Times Square, Poison Season. Discussing the new material, Bejar said:

"The first and last songs are actually one song tracked live with quintet. I even sang with the band. That song always swung between super austere and super mid-’70s Springsteen/Bowie street-rock. In the end, I decided I wanted both. Couldn’t really figure out a way to sequence the orchestral version within the record, so I decided to carve it up as a book-ending motif, with the rock version squarely in the middle.”

Meanwhile, check out album cut Dream Lover, below.

Destroyer Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows:
