Former Gallows Guitarist Announces New Band The Ghost Riders In The Sky

Former Gallows guitarist Steph Carter has announced his new band, The Ghost Riders In The Sky.
The band consists of Carter's wife and brother, Gillian and Richard, as well as guitarist/vocalist Paul Taylor, bassist Jason Green and drummer Kris Banks. Carter said:
“When I was writing ‘Grey Britain’ a lot of these early Ghost Riders ideas came together. I was looking for a new songwriting avenue, something I could use to show what came naturally when I played guitar. Influences come through everywhere! The old Americana sounds of Johnny Cash and Elvis, through to the English driving force of Pink Floyd”.
The quintet have shared the video for their first single, Wastelands, which you can check out below. The track is due for release June 29 through Everything New Records. Discussing it, Steph Carter said:
“There's a lot of anger and frustration in it. It's the way I think a lot of the younger generations are feeling in England. In a time when a large majority of the population will never be able to afford a home of their own. There's a sadness to it, but the music's full of anger and defiance.”
The Ghost Riders In The Sky will play two UK shows this month, calling at The Horn in St Albans on June 13 and Power Lunches in London on June 24.
