Musicians have taken to their social media accounts to pay tribute to Yes bass guitarist Chris Squire, who died on Saturday.

Squire formed Yes in 1968 with vocalist Jon Anderson. In May, he revealed that he had been diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. The band released a statement on their website to break the news:

It’s with the heaviest of hearts and unbearable sadness that we must inform you of the passing of our dear friend and Yes co-founder, Chris Squire.

Chris peacefully passed away last night (27 June 2015) in Phoenix, Arizona.

We will have more information for you soon.
