Recording on a new Gorillaz album is set to begin shortly.
In a new interview with Australian TV show ABC 7.30 (via NME), Damon Albarn confirmed plans to press the red button in September:
“I'm starting recording in September for a new Gorillaz record. I've just been really, really busy so I haven't had a chance. I'd love to just get back into that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week.”
Albarn is currently on the road with Blur, who returned to action this year with the release of ‘The Magic Whip’. Gorillaz, meanwhile, have been dormant since the arrival of ‘The Fall’ almost five years ago. Earlier this year Jamie Hewlett unveiled new concept art for the project on Instagram.
