Guy Garvey To Curate Southbank Centre's Meltdown 2016

Tuesday, 13 October 2015 Written by Laura Johnson

Guy Garvey will curate the Southbank Centre's Meltdown event in 2016.

The Elbow frontman will follow David Byrne, Patti Smith, David Bowie and Yoko Ono by directing the festival.

Discussing the opportunity, Garvey told Time Out

"To be honest, I was absolutely stunned and flattered, given who’s curated it in the past. But the people behind the festival know I have an enthusiasm for music communities and arts, and they thought I would know how to throw a great Meltdown – and they’re absolutely right!"

Meanwhile, check out a concert from this year's Meltdown, curated by Byrne, below.
