The Staves have unveiled a video for their new single, Make It Holy.
The song is lifted from the sibling trio's sophomore album, 'If I Was', which came out in March. It also features guest vocals from Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, who produced the record. Discussing the single, the band said:
“A lot of the songs on this record had begun before we went into the studio, but this song is one of the few that was written entirely at April Base studios. It's one of the songs that captures a moment completely and represents what was so special about that time for us. The song is about the end of a relationship and it's almost a prayer - to make things right again. If you repeat it enough times, it might just happen... Justin Vernon felt a real connection to the song and lent his vocals to it. It's a lovely moment on the record where you can really hear his tie to the music we made out there together. We had all the guys in the studio sing along in the final chorus. For us it creates this feeling of not being alone even in the darkest of times. Friends are important...”
