LCD Soundsystem have confirmed that their reunion will include a new record.
The band, who were announced as headliners for Coachella overnight, last released ‘This Is Happening’ in 2010 before calling it quits the following year.
In a long note posted to the LCD Soundsystem website, James Murphy explained the reasons behind their reformation, addressed the response to the news and also divulged a few details on the record’s composition and their plans to tour.
we’re not just playing coachella. we’re playing all over. we’re not just having some reunion tour. we’re releasing a record (sometime this year—still working on it, actually), so this isn’t a victory lap or anything, which wouldn’t be of much interest to us.
