X Japan Postpone SSE Arena Wembley Show

Thursday, 04 February 2016 Written by Jon Stickler

X Japan have postponed their forthcoming London show.

The Japanese metallers have rescheduled the performance at the SSE Arena Wembley, scheduled for March 12, to March 4, 2017, after guitarist, Pata, was admitted to a hospital in Tokyo last month with a life-threatening condition. Having stabilised, doctors do not consider him fit to fly until he has made a full recovery.

The band have since suspended their current performance commitments, which includes the Wembley show, as well as the release of their new album, scheduled for March 11. Band co-founder Yoshiki has released the following statement:

"My heart is filled with sadness. No words can describe how sorry I am to disappoint our fans. I know the show must go on, but at this this time I can only pray for Pata's recovery. I cannot tolerate more tragedy than what we’ve been through. I promise X Japan will come back strong, as we’ve done before, together with our fans."

All tickets sold will remain valid for the rescheduled date.

X Japan Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows:

Sat March 04 2017 - LONDON SSE Arena Wembley
