Beatles Producer Sir George Martin Dies Aged 90

Legendary producer Sir George Martin, often referred to as the fifth Beatle, has died aged 90.

Sir George had a career in music which spanned more than five decades. He signed the Beatles, worked with them on nearly all of their releases and produced over 700 records, including 30 number ones in the UK and 23 in the US.

Ringo Starr was one of the first to confirm the news early this morning and led tributes which have included posts from Paul McCartney, Sean Ono Lennon, Mark Ronson and Liam Gallagher, among many, many others.
