Ian Brown Further Stokes Fires For New Stone Roses Material

Thursday, 24 March 2016 Written by Huw Baines

It appears that the Stone Roses are recording new music.

NME grabbed a moment with Ian Brown outside The Church recording studio in north London, with the vocalist keeping things short and sweet while saying that sessions were going “like a dream” and that we’d hear some of the “glorious” material “soon”. Reni, the band's drummer, told the magazine earlier this week: "I can't tell you anything because I'll get my arse kicked."

Sightings of Brown, John Squire, Mani and Reni at the studio sent the rumour mill spinning this week, with the band currently preparing for some huge summer shows. Their UK and Ireland plans include four nights at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium, one at Dublin’s Marlay Park and a headline set at T in the Park.

The Stone Roses last released new music back in 1994, when ‘Second Coming’ emerged.

The Stone Roses Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows:

Wed June 15 2016 - MANCHESTER Etihad Stadium
Fri June 17 2016 - MANCHESTER Etihad Stadium
Sat June 18 2016 - MANCHESTER Etihad Stadium
Sun June 19 2016 - MANCHESTER Etihad Stadium
Sat July 09 2016 - DUBLIN Marlay Park
