Becca Stevens Unveils Video For New Single Queen Mab

Becca Stevens has unveiled a video for her new single, Queen Mab.
The track is cut from her new album 'Regina', which is due to arrive on March 24 through Groundup Music. The follow up to 2015's 'Perfect Animal' boasts collaborations with Laura Mvula, David Crosby, Jacob Collier and Snarky Puppy’s Michael League.
About the Damian Weilers-directed video, which was filmed in Tanzania, Stevens said:
“This video paints a portrait of a boy’s life with his father, while shedding light on the dark reality that he faces as an albino in Tanzania. Besides being rejected, ostracised, and persecuted due to superstitious beliefs, albinos in many areas of Sub-Saharan Africa live in fear of being hunted and killed.
This nightmare is a closely guarded reality that continues to threaten the lives of albinos in Tanzania. Authorities insist that this problem no longer exists, but the locals tell a very different story. There are still large numbers of albino children in hiding, and many compounds in Tanzania for albino children that as of recently are no longer allowed to be visited.”
All proceeds from the sale of Stevens' new single will be donated to organisations providing protection, healthcare and educational services for albino children all over the world.
The American singer-songwriter will support Snarky Puppy at their O2 Academy Brixton show on May 5. Tickets are on sale now, priced at £30.75 plus fees.
