Tori Amos has announced a new album and the European and UK legs of her world tour.

The singer-songwriter, pianist and composer will release 'Native Invader', the follow up to 2014's 'Unrepentant Geraldines' on September 8, with the European run set to begin on September 6 in Ireland. Other stops on the trek include Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark and Norway.

The UK leg of the tour will call at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Manchester's Palace Theatre and the O2 Academy Glasgow in October. Tickets for the UK and Irish dates will go on sale at 9am on April 28.

Tickets for the majority of European dates will go on sale at 10am on April 28, with the exception of Paris, which goes on sale at 10am on April 26, Amsterdam and Utrecht, which go on sale at 10am on April 27, and Geneva and Zurich, which go on sale at 8am on May 4.

Discussing the new record, Amos said:

"The songs on Native Invader are being pushed by the Muses to find different ways of facing unforeseen challenges and in some cases dangerous conflicts. The record looks to Nature and how, through resilience, she heals herself. The songs also wrestle with the question: what is our part in the destruction of our land, as well as ourselves, and in our relationships with each other?

In life there can be the shock of unexpected fires, floods, earthquakes, or any cataclysmic ravager - both on the inside and outside of our minds. Sonically and visually, I wanted to look at how Nature creates with her opposing forces, becoming the ultimate regenerator through her cycles of death and re-birth. Time and time again she is able to renew, can we find this renewal for ourselves?"
